A history of drama and theater, with examples from classical Greek, Renaissance and 17th century theater, arts and dramatic texts as representations of cultural norms or provocations.

MAJOR READINGS

History text. essays, and representative plays.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

One essay, midterm, and final examination.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
