Close study of representative texts in the period from the discovery to the present will serve as the basis for a historical survey of literary movements in Latin America. The course will include relevant materials dealing with civilization.

SPAN226 is intended for students who have completed SPAN221 with a B or better. Students who have not done so should consult with the professor before preregistering. Readings, class discussion, and written work in Spanish only.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
