Social Movements
SOC 246 SP
What kinds of conditions, social settings and cultural contexts prompt people to organize for change? What social factors enable them to mobilize effectively? What kinds of strategies do they employ? The course uses
case
studies to look at major theories of collective mobilization, including resource mobilization and new social movement theory.
