Prophets
RUSS 342 SP

Crosslistings:
REES 342

Why was Russia called by Churchill a "riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma"? Why do Russians themselves love to talk about their 'mysterious Russian soul'? When, where, and how did this feeling of being different, 'chosen' originate? What were the foundations of the idea of not belonging neither to Europe nor to Asia? Why is 'a poet in Russia more than just a poet'? We'll discuss all these questions and attempt to find some answers.
