Applied Quantitative Methods in Survey Research
PSYC 307 FA

This hands-on seminar provides advanced and applied experience in survey research. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills in 1) conducting an in-depth literature review, 2) evaluating the content of scientific literature, 3) generating testable hypotheses that add substantially to their chosen area of psychological research; 4) locating and gaining access to publicly available data; 5) preparing data for analysis, 6) selecting and conducting descriptive and inferential analyses that address their chosen hypotheses; 7) presenting research findings; and 8) evaluating implications. Students will also learn computer software packages utilized throughout the research process including SPSS, Endnote, and Power point.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
