Community Development and Organizing I

In this course, students will learn about community psychology through readings, discussion, and direct experience. Subtopics include methods in community psychology, community psychology principles and values,
community
development and organizing, coalition building, collaboration and intervention. Through the course, students will be heavily involved in some project, group, or organization in Middletown.

Weekly Thought Papers; weekly notes from community involvement; community involvement; final paper.

Must apply and be interviewed to take this course. Open to all majors. Not open to first-year students. Qualitative methods course and PSYC 266 preferred, but not required. For application, go to

due April 15, 2002.
