Laboratory in Behavioral Neurobiology
PSYC 208 SP
Students will join teams to conduct original experiments designed to provide experience with brain surgery, behavioral testing, chemical and electrical brain stimulation, recording of brain activity, motion analysis and
quantitative analysis. Experiments will utilize rats.
MAJOR READINGS
No text. Reading from the primary literature will be on reserve.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Three or four research reports written in style of journal article.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Classes will frequently go beyond 4:00 pm. Preference is extended to psychology majors who need to meet the research methods requirement and to NS&B majors who need to meet the methodological requirement.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
Drop/Add form to the Registrar's
Office.
