This First-Year Initiative course will explore several different forms of prejudice and discrimination, including racism, sexism, anti-semitism, homophobia, and the abuse of animals. During the first part of the term, students will read about and discuss specific forms of prejudice and discrimination. In the second half of the course, they will write a final paper and present a brief "address to humanity" on a prejudice-related topic.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
