This course offers continued practice in speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Three hours of class per week plus required language laboratory study.

MAJOR READINGS

Miura & McGloin, INTERMEDIATE JAPANESE (TOKYO: THE JAPAN TIMES, 1994)
Students should have Nelson's JAPANESE-ENGLISH CHARACTER DICTIONARY and P.G. O'Neill, ESSENTIAL KANJI (NEW YORK & TOKYO: WEATHERHILL, 1973), 3RD EDITION.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Frequent written assignments in Japanese, quizzes, midterm and final examinations.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Students who have not completed JAPN206 at Wesleyan will be required to take a placement test.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
