Elementary Italian I
ITAL 101 FA

Required Sequence: ITAL101 & ITAL102

This course focuses on the development of basic skills--speaking, aural comprehension, oral production, writing--and mastery of basic grammar. It will include three classroom periods (MWF) with instructor, one with course assistant (either Tue. or Thur.) for drill and conversation. Days and times for TA sessions will be announced first week of class.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Weekly quizzes, midterm and final examination. Oral interview at final period. Weekly oral and written assignments, including lab manual and workbook. Diary entries five times weekly.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

An additional meeting will be scheduled by the instructor.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
