Mexico, Central America and the Andean Nations
HIST 104 SP
This course presents the history of those Latin American nations that have a strong indigenous heritage. The course will emphasize 19th- and 20th-century indigenista movements, social issues, and contemporary political
revolutions but will also cover the colonial period and the historical construction of India identities.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Midterm exam, final paper or exam, two writing exercises, two (4-6 page) papers.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
