"An introduction to the development of citizenship in the American political system and to mechanisms of democratic accountability. A central concern is the relationships of citizens to political leaders, in particular on the modes by which citizens attempt to hold political leaders responsible for their actions. These modes include representation and appointment, nominations and elections, campaigns and political finance, and political parties, interest groups, and social movements. The course is especially designed for sophomores and juniors."
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
