Queer Knights: The Romance of Lancelot and Galehaut
FREN 232 SP
The early 13th-century LANCELOT DU LAC was one of the cornerstones of medieval literature, and its description of the enduring relationship between the young Lancelot and the older King Galehaut has been called the
greatest
medieval portrait of a homoerotic relationship. We will study this description in the light both of medieval notions of male friendship and modern notions about medieval homosexuality with an eye to discovering the ways
we
use old stories to think about contemporary life and enlarge and enrich our understanding of it.

this one.
