Screenwriting
FILM 454 SP

Writing for the screen, with emphasis on how the camera tells stories, this course is an examination of format, narrative and dialog from treatment through completed script. This is a writing class, grade will be based on writing completed during the semester.

MAJOR READINGS

Materials for the course include screenplays by established professionals and student work written during the term.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Students will be expected to write every week, with all written work completed by the last day of classes.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Junior and Senior Film majors ONLY. Limited to eight. Students with prior film courses preferred.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
