Faulkner and the Thirties

An investigation of Faulkner's work and career in the context of American literature and politics of the thirties.

MAJOR READINGS

Faulkner's major novels, along with significant works by contemporaneous American writers and historical readings to be determined at a later date.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Midterm, final, a research paper and several short papers at 33 pp. total.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
