Topics covered in this study of open-economy macroeconomics include exchange-rate determination, balance of payments, international capital flows, international lending and borrowing, international repercussions of
macroeconomic
policy, and international monetary arrangements. A substantial amount of time will be devoted to current events in international finance.

INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS, by Krugman and Obstfeld
Numerous journal articles and news articles on current events.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Occasional problem sets; classroom discussion or group presentation; two exams, final paper.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
