Introductory Macroeconomics
ECON 112 FA

This one-semester introduction to macroeconomic analysis will focus on how resources are utilized in a market economy. Topics will include inflation, unemployment, productivity growth, and the way in which monetary and fiscal policies influence the pace of economic activity and the international balance of payments.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Two semester examinations and a final examination scheduled by the Registrar. Weekly homework assignments.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Prerequisite: ECON111. A working knowledge of elementary high school algebra as established by passing the mathematics placement examination given to all freshmen, by completing MATH107 or any higher number course offered by the Wesleyan Mathematics Department, or by obtaining advanced placement in calculus. Please note that if you do not match one of the prerequisite listings EXACTLY, then you need a prerequisite override.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
