A general introduction to economic analysis and its applications for public policy. The course examines the forces of supply and demand in competitive markets, business strategy in monopolized markets, antitrust policy to preserve competitive rivalry, resource allocation, income distribution, and the causes of and remedies for unemployment and inflation, with attention to monetary and fiscal policy.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
Drop/Add form to the Registrar's
Office.
