Academic Year 2002/2003

Introductory Chemistry I
CHEM 141 FA

CHEM141 is an introduction to chemistry with a strong emphasis on descriptive reasoning. While intended for students with little or no previous background in chemistry, the course is taught at a relatively high level. The topical coverage emphasizes the relationships between the electronic structure, chemical reactivity, and physical properties of the elements and their compounds. The course serves as an introduction for science majors and, with CHEM142, satisfies the premedical general chemistry requirements.
