Laboratory in Neurophysiology

This course introduces the techniques of recording electrical activity from nerve and muscle. Experiments deal with sensory, motor and coordinating elements and include studies of single cells done with intracellular electrodes. Four to five hours of laboratory per week are required. One additional hour of lecture/discussion at a time to be arranged is also required.

MAJOR READINGS

Reserve readings as appropriate for each laboratory exercise.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Lab reports.

Interview with instructor. Course is not open to first-year students.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
