Frank Lloyd Wright in American Architectural and Cultural History: Myth/Fact
ARHA 248 SP
This seminar explores the architecture, urbanism, and writings of America's best known and most influential modern architect. Sessions devoted to different phases of Wright's development will stress his relationship to
the alternative architectural movements of his lifetime and to traditions in American cultural and intellectual history. Critical analysis of existing historiography is emphasized.

In-class midterm essay examination; one short paper; two oral class presentations; final paper analyzing different historiographic viewpoints on an aspect of Wright.

A limited enrollment seminar for first year students.
