This course is designed to acquaint students with Wesleyan's resources in original works of art from the Renaissance of the 15th and 16th centuries both in Italy and in Germany. We will focus primarily on the prints in the collection of the Davison Art Center, but we will also study the printed materials in the rare book room of Olin Library. The objects in these collections will be our major texts throughout the term. All students will have access to the resources of the collections.
