Contemporary Anthropological Theory
ANTH 201 FA

The course examines contemporary anthropological theory in terms of abstract concepts and ethnographic analyses. It will concentrate on several key theoretical approaches that anthropologists have used to understand society, such as structuralism, interpretation, Marxism, feminism, practice theory, critical ethnography, and post-modern perspectives. Readings will focus on how these approaches figure in current debates among anthropologists.
