Styles in Acting
THEA316 SP

This course will examine the craft of comedy from the point of view of the actor, the director and the writer. Theory (Bergson, Sypher, Bermel, Bently, Freud) will lead to the creation and performance of comic material.

Prerequisites are: Acting II at Wesleyan; Directing I at Wesleyan; admission by audition. Admission to studio, performance, project and tutorial courses in theater is at the discretion of individual instructors, who take into account estimated talent, experience and the need to form balanced working ensembles. Projects must be approved by the department.
