The Sociology of Asian Americans
SOC242 SP

This course explores the social and historical experiences of Asian immigrants and their descendants in American society. We will focus on the cultural, political and economic factors that have shaped the identities and opportunities of different Asian groups and examine the impact of class and intragroup differences on community activism and ethnic solidarity.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
