Lesbian/Bisexual/Gay People In Society

This course is intended as as introduction to contemporary lesbian, bisexual and gay social theory. We will begin by reading personal narratives that focus on the experience, identity, culture and community. We will examine basic contemporary theories on gender and sexuality, focusing on lesbian and gay theory, the emerging queer theory and discussions of bisexuality and its theoretical implications.
