This seminar will examine current theory and research in the areas of attitudes, persuasion, and social influence. Topics will include attitude measurement, attitude functions, models of persuasion, mood and persuasion, subliminal persuasion, conformity, and compliance.

MAJOR READINGS

Selected journal articles and review chapters.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Several assignments, an empirical project, and a final paper.

This is a specialized course in the study are aof social Psychology.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
