Special Relativity

This half-credit, half-semester introduction to special relativity theory progresses from an easy, graphic introduction to a sophisticated, vectorial conclusion.
MAJOR READINGS

E.F. Taylor and J.A. Wheeler, SPACETIME PHYSICS, 2nd. ed.
R. Baierlein, NEWTON TO EINSTEIN
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Weekly problem sets, a "piece-meal take home" exam, and a final exam.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
This course meets the second half of the semester. Classes begin on MONDAY, October 25. NOTE: Students must add this course by November 2.
