EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Extensive in-field performance evaluations will be conducted by the participant, group and instructor relative to the promulgated curriculum elements and standards.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

The NSPOLC will be conducted in the State of Maine during June, 1997, with a major focus of coastal Kayaking. Fee for the 1997 Maine expedition is $1,450. The fee covers all equipment, food, and licenses, but not transportation. A non-refundable deposit of 50% must be paid to reserve a place. The balance is due prior to departure. No exceptions to this fee schedule will be permitted. Upon completion of PHED469, (which is the Education in the Field number that students must use to register) students may participate in a paid leadership practicum in late August with the freshman orientation in the wilderness (WOW). Because of University regulations, the course is offered as Education in the Field. (The processing charge for Education in the Field will be waived). Approval for the Education in the Field will be provided by John Biddiscombe or Peter Budryk. For further information, contact Peter Budryk, x3183. The NSPOLC is limited to 12 students. NOTE: Education in the Field forms are availabl e at the Dean's Office.
