This continuation of MUSC445 is a study of a variety of West African traditional musics, employing the recreational, religious, ceremonial, and warrior music styles.

Intermediate students should pass the beginning class of MUSC445. Students should come from the Afro-American studies, African studies, or religion, anthropology and music departments.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
