Miura & McGloin, INTERMEDIATE JAPANESE (TOKYO: THE JAPAN TIMES, 1994) Students should have Nelson's JAPANESE-ENGLISH CHARACTER DICTIONARY and P.G. O'Neill, ESSENTIAL KANJI (NEW YORK & TOKYO: WEATHERHILL, 1973), 3RD EDITION.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Frequent written assignments in Japanese, quizzes, midterm and final examinations.

Students who have not completed JAPN206 at Wesleyan will be required to take a placement test.
