This course explores key issues, concepts, values, and images from the ancient Greek, Roman, and Judaeo-Christian traditions. The course is interdisciplinary in nature, emphasizes class discussion and provides ample opportunity for writing. The reading list includes literary, religious, historical, and philosophical texts entailing considerable reading. Instructors may raise questions about dominant cultures.
