The Politics of International Economic Relations

This seminar covers advanced topics in the politics of international economic relations. Competing theories of international political economy will be applied in analyzing the major issue areas in modern international
economic relations. The issue
areas include trade, monetary relations, debt, foreign direct investment, North-South relations, OPEC, international economic hegemony development and global environmental problems.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Weekly papers will be assigned on topics relating to the readings. There will also be one major research paper. In addition, there will be oral presentations and simulation exercises.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
