Seminar in Translation
GERM320 FA

In this exploration of the art and craft of translation, some attention will be a given to translation theory, but the chief emphasis will be placed on "doing" translation. Texts from different genres and of varying degrees of difficulty will be worked on by all members of the class, who will compare and discuss their renderings. Each student will then choose a special project, to be discussed with the instructor in individual sessions. Ideal goal: a group anthology of publishable pieces.
