Introduction to the Interpretation of Texts, Literary and Nonliterary

This fifth-semester course, conducted in German, is meant to provide a logical continuation of GERM214. Emphasis will be put on the interpretation of different kinds of texts. The texts to be read and analyzed will be divided between purely literary works (poetry, drama, and prose) and, to a lesser extent, expository works from areas of interest represented by the class. This course counts toward the German major but is specifically intended also as a course for nonmajors.
