The Antiliberal Imagination

An investigation of the often antagonistic relations between twentieth-century American literature and the evolution of American liberalism.
MAJOR READINGS
Reading in history, political theory, and major twentieth-century American lit.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Two exams, a final research essay, and weekly position papers.

This course meets the English department's historical knowledge and theory requirements.
