Environmental Geology

The emphasis of this course will be on the interaction of man and the geologic environment. Natural hazards such as floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides and human-induced hazards relating to geologic and hydrologic systems are the major topics. The geologic effects and consequences of land development will be discussed as well as land-use planning from a geological perspective.
