Health Care Economics
ECON208 SP

Significance of the health care industry in the U.S. economy, including such issues as the financing of health care, medical malpractice, managed competition, how to define quality in the delivery of medical care and the Oregon experiment in rationing will be covered. Particular emphasis will be placed on analyzing the Clinton health plan.

Two examinations and a final paper.

Prerequisites: ECON111 & 112 or ECON105. Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
