Sophomore Colloquium
EAST201 SP
This course is primarily designed for sophomores who are seriously considering a major in East Asian Studies, and is also open to juniors and senior East Asian Studies majors who were unable to take the course their
sophomore year.
MAJOR READINGS

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
One short essay (500 words) will be assigned per module. Each essay will be critiqued by fellow students, and then re-written. There will also be a longer final essay that will encourage students to draw connections
among the modules.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
This course is primarily designed for Sophomores who are seriously considering a major in East Asian Studies, and is also open to Junior and Senior East Asian Studies majors who were unable to take the course their
Sophomore year.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
Drop/Add form to the Registrar's
Office.
