Post-Socialist Economies in Transition, Part II

The transition of the formerly centrally planned and bureaucratically managed economies to market economies based on private property and individual initiative is an event unparalleled in history. The marcroeconomics of liberalization and stabilization and the microeconomics of enterprise privatization are examined using the experiences of Poland, Czech Republic, and Russia.

Open only to CSS majors. This is a fourth quarter class. Students have five days after the first day of class to add this course. This class must be dropped by April 7.

Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
