Topics in Neuroethology

Using a combination of lectures, discussions and student presentations, the course focuses on specific research topics in the neural basis and control of animal behavior. A goal of the course is a clearer picture of the
interrelationships between sensory
and integrative processes of nervous systems and ethology.
MAJOR READINGS
The major readings of the course are review articles and primary research reports from the journals of neurobiology. No textbook is used. The readings will likely average about 3-4 papers per week.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Each student is expected, with guidance from the instructor, to research and present information on at least one of the topics considered. One exam at the end of the course.
