Making Anthropological Video

An experimental video laboratory course combining theory and practice in non-fiction and ethnographic video making. The course will concentrate on video production with weekly exercises, readings, study of selected films
and a final video-editing
project. The aim is to introduce students to computer-based digital video equipment and video making from the development of an idea, through shooting and editing, to post-production concluding a visual ethnographic
project.

Weekly video exercises, readings, non-fiction film screenings and study, final video-editing project.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Six ANTH majors and six FILM majors will be admitted. Two FILM and/or ANTH courses desirable. Film screenings every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the CFA Cinema. $40 lab fee.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed
Drop/Add form to the Registrar's
Office.
