The Spanish American Novel

This course is a study of the Hispanic American novel after
the so-called boom in Latin American Letters. Emphasis will
be placed on the heterogeneity of literary production that
has characterized the postboom period and its significance
for literary discourse in Latin America.

Excellent command
of Spanish is required by the heavy reading load of this
course.
Readings, class discussion, and written work in Spanish
only.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
