This course explores the social and historical experiences
of Asian immigrants and their descendants in American
society. We will focus on the cultural, political and
economic factors that have shaped the identities and
opportunities of different Asian groups and examine the
impact of class and intragroup differences on community
activism and ethnic solidarity.
