This course is designed to help students read analytically
and write essays that offer a clear argument. The general
subject matter of the course is the family. The instructor,
a sociologist, will be joined by guest lecturers from
History, Economics, and Government.

Frequent writing assignments
designed to give students practice in revising their work.

To apply for a
place in this course, simply fill out the brief information
sheet inside the Sociology Department office on the main
floor of the PAC. Applications due: January 20, or come to
the first class.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
