This advanced seminar will explore contemporary
psychological theories and multi-disciplinary empirical
research of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge
eating disorders. Of particular interest will be the
question of a cultural causation of eating disorders.
Students will conduct group research projects.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Computerized literature
search; two written critiques of research projects; poster
presentation of student's research project; written
statement suggesting a primary prevention plan; term paper.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
This is a
specialized course in the study area of
Personality/Psychopathology. Students are required to
collect empirical data for class presentations.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's office.
