Evolution of Social Behavior

This course presents a comparative analysis of the
development of social behavior from primitive mammals to
humans. Sex, parental behavior, aggression and cultural
behaviors will be analyzed from biological and
cross-cultural human perspectives. All students will take
part in a project involving literature searches and papers
on the evolution of the brain organization of social
behavior.

Grades will be based on class
participation, literature search and a term paper.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Library writing
skills are emphasized. Preregistered students must attend
the course or otherwise give good cause to the instructor
during the Red period of Drop/Add or be subject to
withdrawal from the course.
