This course will provide an overview of research methods and
design used in psychological research and will take students
through the research process, from the formulation of a
research question through the publication of findings.
Topics will include measurement of behavior, choosing
subjects for research, study design, conducting a literature
review, analyzing and reporting results, and making sense of
research findings. Students will be exposed to a number of
computer software packages used in research.

preregistered students attend the first class meeting or
communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first
class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the
