Qualitative Methods in Psychology

The course examines the variety, utility and appropriateness of qualitative methods in psychology. The methods of psychological investigation that will be surveyed include the interpretation of text and speech, interviewing, and historical, rhetorical and critical approaches to research. These methods are assessed in terms of their scientific, historical, philosophical, social and political qualities.
