This course is a continuation of the beginning fitness
course. Those interested in enrolling will be required to
test at the "good" level of cardiovascular fitness as
determined by the jogging fitness test (to be taken the
first day of registration). Twenty-five bent-knee sit-ups
also are a prerequisite. Activities include those listed in
the beginning course but are at a level of greater
intensity, stress and pace. Class time includes discussion
of body fat versus body mass, exercise and nutrition.
MAJOR READINGS
While there are no major readings or
examinations, attendance is required in all activity
classes.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Each class member is expected
to exercise one additional day outside of the regularly
scheduled class time.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Class members must
qualify for this course by fulfilling the following
requirements: be able to complete 25 bent-knee sit-ups
and test at the "good" level as determined by the jogging
fitness test. Attendance required.
First class of each quarter will meet in Freeman Athletic
Center classroom.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
